DEFRA have emphasised that if we want Livestock Markets to continue we must keep those attending to a minimum and social distancing must be observed.

We have received guidance from the Livestock Auctioneers Association, which may well be updated once the lockdown has been passed through Parliament.

Procedures already in place still apply in addition:

Attendance must be limited to one representative per business (excluding hauliers)

Wherever possible vendors should ‘drop and go’ and not attend the sale.

Face coverings must be worn by everyone, in all areas of the market unless they have a medical condition that allows a face covering not to be worn.

Staff will wear a face mask except when behind screens or where it is deemed the wearing of a face covering poses a health and safety risk.

The market canteen will be closed.

Machinery sales are not allowed, we are awaiting further guidance on Christmas Shows.

Please continue to deliver your stock in good time with all necessary paperwork completed and correct ear tags in place.

Sale results

Wherever possible please furnish us with your email address and we will send your results later in the day. Alternatively you can ring us on 01722 321215 after 3 pm. Please do not enter the sales office to get a printout unless it is empty. Please note we can pay by bank transfer if we have your details.

Preventative Measures

Do not attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in close contact with anyone who has symptoms.

Please observe social distancing at all times gloves are recommended and are available in the sales office if you forget them. Please sanitise your hands on entering and leaving the market. Wash your hands regularly with soap.

Our Fieldsmen can now view stock on farms provided correct social distancing protocols can be observed. Please contact the relevant auctioneer.

Please note the Produce and Deadstock Sales remain closed and the public and onlookers are not allowed in.
